In place of a special power-up or vehicle specifically for Kirby, Kirby Star Allies features extensive multiplayer co-op, allowing Kirby to recruit allies from various on-stage enemies or summon special partners from the Dream Palaces. Designed as a "culmination" title of the whole series, the game is largely designed around celebrating it, including several references to past titles in multiple forms, and was released as part of the series' 25th anniversary celebration.
